Annual pearlwort

Sagina apetala is native to Europe and has been introduced to other regions, including parts of North America. It thrives in disturbed environments, such as sidewalk cracks. The plant is an annual herb with a slender, threadlike stem, growing either upright or spreading. It is covered in glands and fine hairs. The leaves are linear and no more than a centimeter in length. The inflorescence is a single flower on a thin pedicel, usually with four sepals and no petals. It is commonly referred to as Annual pearlwort and is found in various habitats across its native and introduced ranges.
