Myriophyllum simulans, known as Amphibious Water Milfoil, is a species of water milfoil native to southeastern Australia. It inhabits aquatic environments such as ponds and streams, as well as muddy or swampy soil. The species is highly variable and closely resembles M. variifolium.

Description

Myriophyllum simulans belongs to the family Haloragaceae and is found in regions including New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, and Victoria. It was first described in 1986 by Orchard. This plant is adapted to both aquatic and terrestrial conditions, making it amphibious in nature. Its similarity to M. variifolium can make identification challenging without careful examination.
