Staphylea trifolia, known as American Bladdernut, is a species native to eastern North America. It ranges from southern Ontario and southwestern Quebec west to Nebraska and Arkansas, and south to Florida. The plant is occasionally cultivated as an ornamental.

Description

Staphylea trifolia belongs to the family Staphyleaceae and is part of the genus Staphylea. It is distributed across several regions including Ontario, Quebec, Vermont-US, Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. First published in 1753, this species is recognized for its native range in eastern North America and is sometimes used in horticultural settings for ornamental purposes.
