Abronia ameliae, known as Amelia's sand verbena, is a flowering plant in the Nyctaginaceae family. It is endemic to southern Texas, where it grows in grasslands on deep sands within the Tamaulipan mezquital. The species was named after Amelia Anderson Lundell, the wife of botanist Cyrus Longworth Lundell, and was first described in 1945.

Description

Abronia ameliae is a member of the Nyctaginaceae family and is found exclusively in southern Texas. It thrives in grassland habitats on Holocene sand sheets, part of the Tamaulipan mezquital ecosystem. The plant was named in honor of Amelia Anderson Lundell by her husband, botanist Cyrus Longworth Lundell, and was formally published in 1945.
