Nymphaea amazonum, commonly known as the Amazon waterlily, is a species of water lily native to a wide range from Mexico to tropical South America. It has also been introduced to Bangladesh. This species is part of the Nymphaeaceae family and was first described in 1832 by Mart. & Zucc.

Description

Nymphaea amazonum is a water lily species that occurs naturally across a broad geographic range, including regions in Mexico and tropical South America. Its distribution also extends to several countries in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. It has been introduced to Bangladesh. The species is part of the Nymphaeaceae family and was first published in 1832 by Mart. & Zucc.
