Smelowskia calycina, known as alpine smelowskia, is a member of the Brassicaceae family. It was first described in 1831 by C.A.Mey., based on earlier work by Stephan and Willd. This species is native to a range of Central Asian and Himalayan regions, including Afghanistan, Altay, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tadzhikistan, Tuva, the West Himalaya, and Xinjiang.

Description

Smelowskia calycina belongs to the Brassicaceae, a family commonly known as the mustard family. The species is distributed across several Central Asian and Himalayan countries, including Afghanistan, Altay, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tadzhikistan, Tuva, and Xinjiang, as well as the West Himalaya. It was formally published in 1831 under the authorship of C.A.Mey., with prior contributions from Stephan and Willd. The plant is known by the common name alpine smelowskia in English.
