Smelowskia americana is a species in the Brassicaceae family, commonly known as alpine smelowskia. It is native to the mountain ranges of western North America, including the Olympic Mountains, Cascade Range, and Rocky Mountains. The plant is found on rocky outcrops and talus at subalpine and alpine elevations, ranging from 1,300 to 4,000 metres. It blooms from late May until early September.
