Allocasuarina thuyoides, known as horned sheoak, is a flowering plant in the Casuarinaceae family, native to the south-west of Western Australia. It is a monoecious or dioecious shrub with scale-like leaves arranged in whorls of five or six. The plant produces fruiting cones 8–20 mm long, containing winged seeds measuring 5.0–6.0 mm in length.

Description

This species is part of the genus Allocasuarina and was published in 1982 under the authorship of L.A.S. Johnson. Its distribution is restricted to Western Australia, where it grows as a shrub with reduced, scale-like foliage. The cones are a distinguishing feature, housing the plant's winged seeds. Allocasuarina thuyoides is one of several species within the Casuarinaceae family, which is characterized by its needle-like leaves and woody cones.
