Allocasuarina thalassoscopica is a flowering plant in the Casuarinaceae family, native to eastern Australia. It is a dioecious shrub with branchlets up to 180 mm long and scale-like leaves arranged in whorls of five to seven. The species produces fruiting cones 12–28 mm long, containing winged seeds measuring 4.0–8.0 mm in length.
Description
This species is found in New South Wales and Queensland. It was first described by L.A.S. Johnson in 1989. Allocasuarina thalassoscopica exhibits a spreading to erect growth habit and is adapted to coastal and dry environments. Its reproductive structures are characteristic of the genus, with cones that enclose seeds adapted for wind dispersal.
