Allocasuarina helmsii is a flowering plant in the family Casuarinaceae, native to south-western Australia. It is a dioecious shrub with erect branchlets and scale-like leaves arranged in whorls of five or six. The plant produces fruiting cones 15–33 mm long, containing winged seeds (samaras) 4–5 mm in length.

Description

This species is part of the genus Allocasuarina and was formally described in 1982 by L.A.S. Johnson. It is found in South Australia and Western Australia, where it grows as a shrub with distinctive, whorled scale leaves and elongated cones. The seeds are adapted for wind dispersal due to their wings. Allocasuarina helmsii is one of several species in the Casuarinaceae family, which is characterized by its needle-like foliage and woody cones.
