Allocasuarina distyla, known as scrub she-oak, is a dioecious shrub in the Casuarinaceae family. It is native to south-eastern New South Wales, with branchlets up to 350 mm long and scale-like leaves arranged in whorls of six to eight. The plant produces fruiting cones 13–35 mm long, containing winged seeds (samaras) measuring 4.0–8.0 mm in length.

Description

Allocasuarina distyla is a flowering plant species in the Casuarinaceae family, found in south-eastern New South Wales. It is a dioecious shrub characterized by long branchlets and scale-like leaves in whorls of six to eight. The plant bears fruiting cones that are 13–35 mm long and contain samaras, or winged seeds, measuring 4.0–8.0 mm in length. This species was formally described in 1982 and is part of the Allocasuarina genus. Its distribution is primarily within Australia, specifically in New South Wales, and it has also been recorded in Venezuela.
