It is native to central and southern Europe and has been documented in multiple regions such as SE, Newfoundland, Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, NO, DK, Albania, Austria, the Baltic States, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Central European Rus, Connecticut, and Corse. This species was first described in 1832.
