Alkanna noneiformis, a species in the Boraginaceae family, is native to Greece and Yugoslavia. It was first described by Griseb. in 1844. This species is closely related to A. scardica, found in northern Albania, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro, but differs by its entirely eglandular indumentum, longer calyx, subglabrous corolla, and distinctly reticulate nutlets. Recently recorded in Albania, it is considered rare.

Description

Alkanna noneiformis is a member of the Boraginaceae family and was described by Griseb. in 1844. It is found in Greece and Yugoslavia. The species is closely related to A. scardica, which is distributed in northern Albania, F.Y.R. Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro. Key distinguishing features include a completely eglandular indumentum, a longer calyx, a subglabrous corolla, and distinctly reticulate nutlets. A recent record from the Prespa National Park in Albania marks it as a new addition to the country's flora and indicates its rarity.
