Alchornea fluviatilis is a species in the Euphorbiaceae family, described by Secco in 1993. It is found in several protected areas in Colombia, including Complejo Humedales Hato Corozal, Reserva Nacional Natural Puinawai, Reserva Nacional Natural Nukak, Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, and Parque Nacional Natural El Tuparro. It also occurs in Amazonas, Caquetá, Meta, and the Amazonia nororiental region of Colombia, as well as in the departamento del Guainía, municipio de Inírida, and Tomo Grande. Its distribution extends to Bolivia, Brazil Northeast, Brazil North, French Guiana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.

Description

Alchornea fluviatilis is a member of the Euphorbiaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as spurge. This species was first described in 1993 by Secco. It is native to the Amazon basin and surrounding regions, with a documented presence in several protected conservation areas in Colombia. These include Complejo Humedales Hato Corozal, Reserva Nacional Natural Puinawai, Reserva Nacional Natural Nukak, Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete, Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, and Parque Nacional Natural El Tuparro. It is also found in the Amazonas, Caquetá, and Meta departments, as well as in the Amazonia nororiental region of Colombia. Additional records exist from the departamento del Guainía, specifically in the municipio de Inírida and Tomo Grande. The species extends its range to Bolivia, Brazil (Northeast and North regions), French Guiana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela.
