Celosia virgata, known as albahaca, is a perennial subshrub in the Amaranthaceae family. It is native to regions in the Caribbean and parts of Central and South America, including Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

Description

Celosia virgata is a member of the genus Celosia and is found in a wide range of locations such as Colombia, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and others. It is also present in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, but not in the continental United States. This species was first described in 1789 by the author Jacq.
