Diphasiastrum sitchense is a pteridophyte species in the Lycopodiaceae family, native to northern North America and northeastern Asia. It is a terrestrial herb that spreads via stolons and features appressed, lanceolate leaves up to 3.2 mm long. The species produces solitary strobili at the ends of its shoots. It is found in alpine meadows, open rocky barrens, and coniferous woodlands.

Description

Diphasiastrum sitchense, also known as Alaska Clubmoss, is a member of the Lycopodiaceae family. It is distributed across Canada, including all provinces and the Yukon, as well as in the U.S. states of Alaska, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York. It also occurs in Greenland, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Japan, and the Kamchatka Peninsula. The species grows in a variety of habitats, including alpine meadows, rocky barrens, and coniferous forests.
