Juniperus procera, known as African Juniper, is a coniferous tree native to mountainous regions in Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. It is a key species in the Afromontane flora.
Description
Juniperus procera belongs to the Cupressaceae family and is found in countries such as Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe. This species was first described in 1847 by Hochst. ex Endl.
