Cynodon nlemfuensis, known as African Bermuda grass, is a species in the genus Cynodon, family Poaceae. Native to Tropical Africa excluding West Africa, it has been widely introduced globally for forage use. It is stoloniferous but not rhizomatous.

Cynodon nlemfuensis, African Bermuda grass, is a grass species in the family Poaceae. It is native to Tropical Africa, excluding West Africa, and has been introduced to many regions for forage, including Hawaii, Texas, Florida, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, the Galápagos, South America, western and southern Africa, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Australia. This grass spreads via stolons and does not form rhizomes. It was first described in 1922 by Vanderyst. The species is found in various locations, including Colombia, Antioquia, Cauca, Chocó, Cundinamarca, Huila, Meta, Quindío, Risaralda, Tolima, and Valle del Cauca, as well as in Botswana, Brazil, Cuba, Gabon, Belize, Nicaragua, and other regions.
