Aethionema armenum is a low-growing evergreen shrub in the Brassicaceae family, native to the Mediterranean region. It is commonly found on rocky slopes at elevations above 800 meters.

Description

Aethionema armenum, known as rock cress, stonecress, or Persian candytuft, is a member of the Brassicaceae family. It is native to regions including Lebanon, Syria, the Transcaucasus, and Turkey. The species was first described by Edmond Boissier in 1842 based on a single specimen in the G-BOIS collection. The plant typically grows on rocky slopes at higher elevations in its native range.
