Aerangis luteoalba is an epiphytic orchid species in the Orchidaceae family, native to eastern and central Africa. It is divided into two recognized varieties: Aerangis luteoalba var. luteoalba, found in Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville, and Congo-Kinshasa; and Aerangis luteoalba var. rhodosticta, distributed across Cabinda, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville, and Congo-Kinshasa.

Description

Aerangis luteoalba, described in 1918, belongs to the genus Aerangis and is part of the Orchidaceae family. The species is native to several African countries, including Cabinda, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zaïre. It is characterized by its epiphytic growth habit. The two varieties of this species differ in their geographic distribution. Aerangis luteoalba var. luteoalba is found in Uganda, Congo-Brazzaville, and Congo-Kinshasa, while Aerangis luteoalba var. rhodosticta, described in 1979, has a broader range that includes Cabinda, the Central African Republic, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and both Congo-Brazzaville and Congo-Kinshasa.
