Saponaria calabrica, known as Adriatic soapwort, is a species in the Caryophyllaceae family. It was first described in 1826 by Guss. This plant is native to parts of southern Europe and the eastern Mediterranean, including SE, AU, Albania, the East Aegean Islands, Greece, Italy, Kriti, Sicilia, and Turkey-in-Europe.

Description

Saponaria calabrica belongs to the Caryophyllaceae family, commonly known as the carnation or stonecress family. It is a member of the Saponaria genus, which includes various species known as soapworts. The species is distributed across several regions in southern Europe and the eastern Mediterranean, including SE, AU, Albania, the East Aegean Islands, Greece, Italy, Kriti, Sicilia, and Turkey-in-Europe. First published in 1826 by Guss., Saponaria calabrica is part of a diverse group of flowering plants within the Caryophyllaceae family.
