Actinidia persicina belongs to the genus Actinidia and is part of the Actinidiaceae family. This species is native to the southeastern region of China. In the Chinese language, it is referred to as táohuā míhóutáo. The species was formally described and published in 2003 by botanists R.G. Li and L. Mo.
