Description

Achyranthes splendens, described in 1849 by Mart. ex Moq., is a member of the genus Achyranthes within the Amaranthaceae family. Endemic to Hawaiʻi, it grows in dry forest and shrubland environments as well as along sandy shores. The species is at risk due to the degradation and loss of its natural habitats.
