Abrams' woollystar
Eriastrum abramsii (Elmer) H.Mason

Eriastrum abramsii is a species of flowering plant in the family Polemoniaceae, known as Abrams' woollystar. Endemic to California, it is found in the Coast Ranges around the San Francisco Bay Area. The species is named in honor of LeRoy Abrams and was first described in 1945 by H. Mason, based on earlier work by Elmer.
Description
Eriastrum abramsii is an annual herb that grows to approximately 15 cm in height, with a thin, woolly stem. Its leaves are divided into narrow, threadlike lobes, and the inflorescence features a woolly cluster of narrow, leaflike bracts covered in webby fibers. The small flowers have yellow throats and white or blue corolla lobes. This species is restricted to the hills of the Coast Ranges in California.
