Notothylas orbicularis (Schwein.) Sull.
Notothylas orbicularis, auch als Round Hornwort bezeichnet, ist eine Moose-Art aus der Familie Notothyladaceae. Sie wurde 1846 wissenschaftlich beschrieben und von (Schwein.) Sull. autorisiert. Das Verbreitungsgebiet dieser Art umfasst Labrador, Québec, BR (Baffin Island) und Vermont in den USA.
Description
Notothylas orbicularis ist ein seltener Moosbewohner, der in nördlichen Regionen Nordamerikas vorkommt. Sie gehört zur Familie Notothyladaceae, die aufgrund ihrer spezifischen Anpassungen an feuchte, oft schattige Lebensräume hervorragend untersucht wird. Die Art ist in Labrador, Québec, auf Baffin Island und in Vermont zu finden. Sie ist nach dem Botaniker beschrieben worden, der sie wissenschaftlich einordnete, und trägt den englischen Namen Round Hornwort aufgrund ihrer charakteristischen Form.
