Es kommt weltweit in Ländern wie Angola, Botswana, KwaZulu-Natal, Malawi, Mosambik, den Northern Provinces, Swasiland, Tansania, Zambia, Zaïre, Simbabwe, Guinée forestière und Haute-Guinée vor. Der Baum ist für seine Anpassung an felsige Lebensräume bekannt und hat ein breites Verbreitungsgebiet in Afrika.
