Dendropanax proteus ist eine Pflanzenart aus der Familie der Araliengewächse (Araliaceae). Sie wurde 1861 wissenschaftlich beschrieben und in der Literatur veröffentlicht. Das Artepitheton stammt von (Champ. ex Benth.) Benth.
Description
Dendropanax proteus kommt in Zentral- und Südostchina sowie auf der Insel Hainan vor. Sie ist ein Mitglied der Gattung Dendropanax, die innerhalb der Araliengewächse (Araliaceae) einheimisch in Asien ist. Die Verbreitung dieser Art ist auf einige Regionen in China begrenzt. Die wissenschaftliche Beschreibung erfolgte 1861 durch Bentham, der auch das aktuelle Taxon festlegte.
